Home Download Edition

The Home Download Edition allows up to four users in one house to have their own personal cookery book, in addition to the three cookery books provided. A further four cookery books can be created for general use. The library includes "Healthy Eating Guidelines", "Healthy Menus", Safety and Hygiene in the Kitchen" and 32 videos.

Home CD Edition

The Home CD Edition allows up to six users in a house to have their own personal cookery book, in addition to the three cookery books provided. A further six cookery books can be created for general use. The library includes two additional books written specially for children: "Dictionary of Food" and "Dictionary of Cooking". This edition includes a manual on running a cookery club, and makes an ideal birthday or Christmas present.

School Editions

All licensed pupils can have their own personal cookery book, in addition to the cookery books provided. An unlimited number of additional cookery books can be created for general use in the class-room. This edition can be networked and has many additional features for teachers. It was approved by Curriculum Online.
All the editions have a full-colour manual which can be viewed on-screen or printed out.

System Requirements

• PC (preferably networked) running Microsoft Windows 2000, ME, XP or Vista.
• 500 mb free disk space
• 125 mb RAM
• Printer, preferably colour
• Sound system (optional for speech, music and sound effects)
• A computer projector or interactive whiteboard will be helpful

The sound and music settings can be changed as can the background picture and the foreground and background colours - both of which are particularly important for children with visual impairment. It was good to see that the programme designers had for once taken all these needs into consideration. A lot of care and thought have gone into the development of the controls that teachers will really appreciate - particularly being able to turn the sound off!

Maisie (7) liked looking at the pictures and the fact that they were for her age and ability. Ben (11) and my husband Steve cooked Lamb Bhuna together which was very successful. Ben said he liked cooking a proper meal and they both agreed that the instructions were simple, clear and easy to follow.
